Paul Cabutshas an extensive track record of leadership and management in education and commercial contexts. Working through the creative agency Photography•Wales he continues to develop and deliver projects relating to cultural, commercial and social applications of photography. Cabuts’s roles in photography as Institute Director, Associate Head and Academic Subject Leader have encompassed duties and responsibilities that include Corporate Responsibilities; Academic Leadership and Quality Management; Research and Innovation Leadership; Business Development and Resource Management. He has successfully developed distinctive, sustainable and internationally recognised projects in the field of photography.
His own photography has been exhibited at venues in the UK and beyond including the Australian Centre for Photography, Germany’s Treffpunkt Stuttgart and Kaunas Photography Gallery, Lithuania. A recipient of a Creative Wales Award from the Arts Council of Wales, Cabuts has been commissioned to work on numerous photography projects including the BBC’s award winning Capture Wales project.
Paul Cabuts completed his PhD at the European Centre for Photographic Research where he examined the factors shaping the development of the photographic arts in Wales during the second-half of the twentieth century. The University of Wales Press published his monograph Creative Photography and Wales. He is an Honorary Research Fellow at Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales.
